On Dec 5-7, 2025, the best DEKA athletes from the 2025 season will descend on the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to fight for their right to be crowned DEKA world champion.
The 2025 DEKA World Championship will kick off Friday with all divisions of the DEKA FIT. DEKA MILE athletes will get their shot on Saturday, and we’ll see the best DEKA STRONG athletes close out the weekend on Sunday. We’ll see three long days of elites, age groupers, ruckers, and teams competing for a DEKA championship.
Here’s a quick summary:
- DEKA FIT on Friday. DEKA MILE on Saturday. DEKA STRONG on Sunday.
- DEKA ATLAS & DEKA ULTRA will not be at World Championships
- The last days to qualify for DEKA World Championships were Sept 6 (FIT) & Sept 14 (MILE/STRONG), 2025 (midnight Eastern)
- Cash prizes are awarded to the Elite and Elite Teams divisions (exact prize amounts below)
- Age groups receive medals & podium recognition, and ruck winners receive prizes from Titan 6 Actual
- The top 30 athletes in each elite division (individual & teams) will be invited. There will be two heats of 15.
- The top 15 athletes in each age group will earn a spot to compete
- There are two divisions for all versions of the Ruck — 44 & Under and Masters 45+
The championship race for the DEKA FIT Ultra is held at a separate event (2025 DEKA FIT Austin). Learn more about the DEKA FIT Ultra World Cup.
Qualification
- September 6th was the last day to qualify for DEKA FIT (at DEKA FIT Austin)
- September 14th was the last day to qualify for DEKA MILE & DEKA STRONG (at a local affiliate)

- DEKA FIT: September 9, 2024 through September 6, 2025
- DEKA MILE & STRONG: September 16, 2024 through September 14, 2025
Can I run in both elite & age group?
No, not for the same race. For example, if you run in the elite wave for individual DEKA FIT, you cannot also race age group for individual DEKA FIT.
However, you can race elite in the DEKA FIT and age group in the DEKA MILE. You can also race elite in an individual DEKA FIT and age group in a DEKA FIT teams race.
Age Groups
- Age groups are determined by your age on September 15, 2025
How many athletes qualify from each age group/division?
For all elite races (individual & teams), the top 30 men, 30 women, and 30 teams (male, female, coed) qualify for World Championships.
For all age group races, the top 15 men & 15 women in each age group qualify for World Championships. 15 athletes qualify for the elite wave as well.
For most teams races, the top 15 teams in each division (male, female, coed) and each age group within that division will qualify. The exception is Youth/Youth and Adult/Youth teams, which only qualify 5 teams.
For all ruck races, the top 15 men & 15 women in each age group (Under 44 & Masters 45+) qualify.
Registration
Who can signup for DEKA World Championships?
The DEKA World Championship is invite only. Invitations go out on a rolling basis, starting shortly after the final DEKA FIT on Sep 6.
Elite invitations go out first, for the fastest times of the season in each category. Once those slots are filled, age groups emails go out. Athletes have a few days to register. If you don’t register within the few day time limit, DEKA will begin sending emails out to the next group of times on the leaderboard.
How do I register for my race(s)?
Once you received your invitation email from DEKA, you have a limited number of days to sign up, otherwise your spot is given to someone else. So act fast!
Use the link you received in your invitation email.
1. Click the REGISTER NOW button
2. Enter the promo code from the email into the PROMO CODE field. (Scroll down to the bottom)
3. Find your desired heat in the list. It will be the only unlocked field. You may have to scroll a ways.
4. Select your ticket and click PROCEED TO CHECKOUT.
How much does each race registration cost?
For the 2025 DEKA World Championships, it looks like… elite individual tickets will cost $199… age group tickets will likely cost around $129-$149… and teams tickets will likely cost around $79-99/person. We’ll confirm once Spartan opens every type of registration.
All tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

- The 2024 World Championship was in Ocala, Florida, USA
- DEKA has visited Florida several times over the past 5 years, in Ocala, Orlando, and West Palm Beach, but this is their first visit to Fort Lauderdale
Race Map
DEKA doesn’t usually provide a race map for World Championships. Most DEKA FIT courses are set up the same way, regardless of venue.
However, since DEKA MILE & DEKA STRONG events are held at affiliate gyms, and the World Championship takes place in a large convention center, those courses will look different than the ones in which you qualified.
DEKA MILE Course
The DEKA MILE course at World Champs usually consists of the 10 DEKA zones lined up one after the other in a linear fashion. The run is a down & back with two sharp, 180° turns.
DEKA STRONG Course
The DEKA STRONG course at World Championships is usually linear, but with considerably more space between zones. It’s difficult to set a world record or even a personal best because of increased transition time.

Individual men & women receive the following for their placement at the 2025 DEKA World Championship.
- $13,500 is up for grabs in each individual competition—$6,750 for men, $6,750 for women, in each of the DEKA FIT, DEKA MILE, and DEKA STRONG races. A total of $40,500 is being award to individuals across all three days of competition.

Teams – DEKA FIT, DEKA MILE, DEKA STRONG
Each teams division—coed, male, female—will receive the following prize money at the 2025 DEKA World Championship.
- $6,000 is up for grabs in each teams competition—$2k for male teams, $2k for female teams, $2k for coed teams, in each of the DEKA FIT, DEKA MILE, and DEKA STRONG races. A total of $18,000 is being award to teams across all three days of competition.

Age Group Awards
Age group athletes will receive podium recognition and a Spartan delta trophy.
DEKA does not typically give out flags for age group podiums like the HYROX World Championship.

Can I race at DEKA World Championships if I didn’t qualify?
No. It is an invite-only event, and you must qualify at a qualifying race throughout the 2025 season.
Can I compete in multiple races?
Yes. You can race individually on all three days, and race DEKA FIT, DEKA MILE, and DEKA STRONG.
You can also race multiple races in the same day, if you qualify for both individual AND teams races. You can even race in multiple teams races on the same day (ex: coed AND male teams).
You cannot race in both the elite AND age group category of the same type of DEKA race. For example, you cannot race the DEKA MILE in both the elite & age group category. You must select only one.
Do age group winners receive prize money?
No. Only the elite categories (individual & teams) receive prize money. See above.
