Women’s Elite 15 Pro Doubles
Jess Pettrow & Joanna Wietrzyk led during the first 3 stations of the race. Lauren & Lauren really made a move at the burpee broad jumps, where they surged past Jess & Joanna to take the lead. Jess & Joanna never led up, and stayed within 20 seconds of the defending champs. But ultimately, Lauren & Lauren held them off, finishing 31 seconds faster. Surprisingly, we actually saw Lauren Griffith do the final chunk of wall balls, as typically Lauren Weeks handles all 100.
The race for third was exciting to watch, mainly (and unfortunately) because of penalties.
- Zara Piergianni & Gabriella Moriarty came into the wall balls in third, but they had 60 seconds of penalties to serve.
- The Vandenlindenloofs came into wall balls in fourth, exactly 60 seconds back of Zara & Gabriella.
- Camilla Massa & Seka Arning came into the wall balls only 2 seconds behind the Vandenlindenloofs.
Zara & Gabriella finished first, but they had to serve their penalty. They watched closely as the other two teams got closer and closer to 100.
- Massa & Arning finished next, but had to serve 15 seconds of penalties
- The Vandenlindenloofs had 9 no reps, costing them precious time
Ultimately, Zara & Gabriella crossed the line in third. The Vandenlindenloofs were 2 seconds back, just edging out Massa & Arning by less than a second. โก๏ธ What a finish!
