Spartan DEKA runs a new challenge every 3 months, and their next challenge is coming up in September. The DEKA FIRE Global Challenge will test all fitness levels and run from September 1-30. It’s the first ever DEKA challenge that is open to kids as young as 5 years old.
This is a bodyweight fitness test requiring almost no equipment. You do need 5m of space, 4 markers (could be rocks, books, anything), and a timing device. That’s it! This can be done by anyone, anywhere.
Spartan DEKA FIRE was designed to provide you with a low barrier of entry, 10-zone full body functional test designed for all levels of fitness.

The goal is to get kids, teens, and adults around the world completing the Ignite the Fire DEKA FIRE Global Challenge throughout the month of September. Spartan DEKA is trying to change thousands of lives in just one month.
How to Participate
- View this page to get all the details on the Ignite the World DEKA FIRE Global Challenge
- Find & contact your local DEKA Affiliate to find out when they’re hosting the challenge in September, or schedule some time to complete it on your own
- Start spreading the word to friends, family, and coworkers. If you or anyone you know is a PE teacher or youth/community group leader, share the challenge with them. DEKA FIRE is easy to facilitate with large groups of kids and adults.
A great way to approach this challenge is to test yourself in the first few days of September. Then train hard for the entire month, and test yourself again in early October to see how you’ve improved.
