Venue

The 2025 HYROX World Championship takes place at the Navy Pier in Chicago, IL, USA.
- HYROX first visited Chicago’s Navy Pier in January of 2020, with just over 500 athletes in attendance
- The 2021 & 2023 HYROX U.S. Championships were held at the Navy Pier in Chicago
- This is the 8th time that HYROX was held an event in Chicago
Registration/Check-In
Early Check-In
Athletes can check-in at the venue on Thursday between 8am – 6pm. There will also be an expo and open gym, where you’ll likely be able to test out the new HYROX turf, buy some merch, and play around with the Centr equipment that will be used during the race.
Race Day Check-In
Check-in will also be available each day throughout the weekend, so if you can’t make it Thursday, you can check-in the day of your race. All check-in will occur at the venue (Navy Pier).
- You must bring a photo ID
- Checking in on behalf of others is not allowed
Race Map
We’ll update this section as soon as HYROX releases the race map for the 2025 World Championship.
Recent races have included 2 laps of the farmer’s carry course, as well as a separate wall ball IN arch. It’s unclear whether the World Championship will also implement this layout, or if the layout will be similar to previous HYROX courses at the Navy Pier.
Since you’ve qualified for the World Championship, you should already be familiar with the race flow & rules, but just in case you need a refresher…
Run Laps
- HYROX has not released this yet. We’ll update as soon as they do.
Elite 15 – Press Conference
Elite 15 – Individual
All 15 slots have been filled for the World Championship. These spots were earned by placing in the top 3 at the 4 HYROX Majors throughout the season, or by getting a roll down if one of the top 3 athletes had already qualified via a previous race.
The remaining 3 spots for both men & women were awarded to the top finishers at the one and only HYROX Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) event in Barcelona on April 26, 2025.
Who is racing in the 2025 HYROX World Championship?
Here are the 15 men & women competing this year, along with their qualifying time and which race they qualified from.
Elite 15 Rules
Hybrid Fitness Media put together a nice article outlining the rules for the Elite 15 individual race Thursday night. It’s the most rigid set of rules we’ve ever had at a HYROX World Championship to date. Here are the highlights:
- Turf: Athletes will have 30 minutes to test out the new turf. Elite 15 athletes only. No photos/videos allowed.
- Race Kit, Branding, Sponsors: Athletes are provided a race kit and encouraged to wear it. Blank tops/bottoms will also be provided. Socks, wristbands, headwear are up to the athlete, but no additional sponsor branding can be present on them. All kits must be approved by HYROX. Failure to comply will result in logos being taped over.
- Body Tattoos: Sponsor tattoos are allowed on each upper arm, the leg, and the chest; nowhere else. They must be approved.
- Stations: Lanes will be assigned by a head judge. Athletes cannot choose their own. A 2-minute penalty will be assessed for doing so.
- Wall Balls: The digital screen has the final say. You can only leave once it says 100.
- Challenges/Protests: Evidence must be submitted via email no later than 60 minutes after the final athlete finishes. Only unsportsmanlike behavior & missed reps/distances can be challenged (not movement standards). The athlete in question can respond with input. HYROX has 48 hours to complete investigation.
- Drug Testing: 5 athletes from each gender will be tested after the race. HYROX follows WADA guidelines. Complete HYROX drug testing information →
- Nutrition: Water & Red Bull are provided. Athletes may supply their own nutrition; it will be placed on a table by the OUT arch, unattended.
Meg Jacoby Withdraws
On June 1st, Meg Jacoby made the difficult decision to withdraw from the 2025 HYROX World Championship. In her post on Instagram, she stated she “has simply run out of time” with her recovery. Meg underwent major surgery last year, and was only cleared to return to full training in February.
She recently raced at HYROX London Olympia on May 3rd with Camilla Massa. The two qualified for the Elite 15 Pro Doubles. This means that Camilla will no longer be racing in the Pro Doubles race on Saturday night, but she will still be representing Team Italy in the Relay Invitational on Friday night.
- Kris Rugloski is replacing Meg for the Elite 15 individual race
- The team of Jade Skillen & Jana Lebenstedt are replacing Meg & Camilla in Elite 15 Pro Doubles
- Vivian Tafuto is replacing Meg on the USA relay team
Meg will still be in Chicago to partake in the festivities & represent her sponsors. She wished all her fellow competitors a great race.

Mixed Team Relay Invitational

The mixed team relay made its debut last year at the 2024 HYROX World Championship. 20 teams made up of 2 men and 2 women, each representing their country, threw down to see which country had the fastest HYROX athletes.
This year, 15 countries earned their spot based on the number of qualified athletes representing them at the world championships. The remaining 5 countries received a wildcard entry. They were selected not only for their performance this season but for embodying the spirit of the global HYROX community.
Several prominent teams from last year were left off the list, sparking some backlash from athletes on Instagram.
HYROX chooses one team captain for each country, and they are responsible for choosing the other 3 athletes to comprise their team.
So who are the 20 teams competing in the mixed team relay at the 2025 HYROX World Championship?
* indicates a wildcard team. Captains are in bold.
