Meg Jacoby just signed a deal to be represented by Snorri Baron of Bakland Management.
Snorri is the most recognizable name when it comes to managing CrossFit athletes, as he was one of the first to sign contracts with some of the biggest names in the sport. Bakland represents the following CrossFit athletes:
- Sara Sigmundsdóttir
- Emma Lawson
- Björgvin Karl Guðmundsson (BKG)
- Ricky Garard
- Victor Hoffer
- Sólveig Sigurðardóttir
- Lucy McGonigle
- David Shorunke
- Kels Kiel
A little over a year ago, Bakland Management dipped its toes into the hybrid space when it agreed to represent HYROX champion and world record holder, Hunter McIntyre.
Snorri recently attended HYROX Manchester to watch Hunter & Michael Sandbach break the Men’s Doubles world record by over 4 minutes with a time of 50:18.
ESN Sports Nutrition
Meg has been running fast, breaking records, and signing deals.
Two days ago, Meg also announced a new partnership with German sports nutrition company ESN. You might have seen her rocking the headband at HYROX Vienna.
Who’s Next?
With HYROX, DEKA, and other hybrid-style events continuing to gain popularity, is 2024 the year of the full-time elite hybrid athlete? With paid representation, the hope is that elite athletes can make more money doing what they love, and no longer need another job or side hustle to earn a living.
I do think Hunter was before his time. It was his own personality & presence that secured him a management deal, not the popularity of HYROX. With Meg however, the tides are turning. She has far less name recognition than Hunter, and less of an online presence. However, she’s arguably the fittest woman across all hybrid-type events that are not named CrossFit.
Let’s hear your guess for who’s next down in the comments. Could it be…
- Ryan Kent
- Lauren Weeks
- Alexander Rončević
- Kris Rugloski
