Spartan DEKA has released their schedule for 2025 DEKA FIT events. There are 26 events taking place from February to November, with the 2025 DEKA World Championships going down from December 5-7, 2025.

Most US events only feature the DEKA FIT distance (and some have an ULTRA). They do not include DEKA STRONG, DEKA MILE, or DEKA ATLAS.

DEKA events in Spain will feature two or three of the DEKA distances—FIT, MILE, and STRONG. Most also contain DEKA FIT Teams, but none of them have a Ruck division.
DEKA FIT ULTRAs are only available in the U.S., and most occur on the Sunday following the Saturday DEKA FIT event.

DEKA FIT Divisions
There are typically 4 divisions within each DEKA FIT event.
- Age Group: Open to all levels. Eligible for Age Group recognition & World Championship qualification.
- Elite: Eligible for prizes & monetary rewards. Typically invite only.
- DEKA FIT Ruck: Weight implement (30lbs male, 20lbs female) required to be weighed in & out. All rucks or backpacks are allowed. No weight vests or plate carriers.
- Team: Teams of 2 (female, male, coed) divide and conquer the DEKA FIT arena. Learn more about DEKA FIT teams.
In 2024 and previous years, there was also an Open division. This was removed in 2025, along with several other 2025 DEKA FIT updates.

2025 DEKA FIT Ultra World Cup (Austin, TX)
On June 17th, @deka.fit announced that the DEKA FIT World Cup, previously scheduled for Sunday, September 7th, has been moved to Friday, September 5th. All other DEKA FIT categories (age group, ruck, 2-person teams) will continue as planned on Saturday, September 6th.
Introducing 4-Person Teams
On the same post, DEKA also announced that they’re introducing a new DEKA format—4-Person Teams!
We’re still waiting on more information about how the event will run, the official rules, etc., but we shouldn’t have to wait long. The first week of September is quickly approaching.

“We are thrilled to introduce the debut of 4-Person Teams on Friday afternoon/evening in Austin. If you love 2-person teams, then 4-person teams will be double the intensity, double the fun. Come be among the very first to demo this new opportunity to divide and conquer the DEKA Arena in a team of 4.”

Spectator Fees
New in 2025, spectators now pay $10 to watch a DEKA FIT event. This new spectator fee is charged per day, so if you want to watch a DEKA FIT on Saturday and a DEKA FIT ULTRA on Sunday, the fee is doubled. With mandatory service fees, the price comes out to just over $13/day.

DEKA Photos
Photos are not included in your ticket price. DEKA has partnered with Sportograf for their athlete photos. When purchasing a ticket, you can add on the photography package for $29.99 to receive up to 40 photos of yourself during the event.
Sportograf uses facial recognition to find you in their database, and shows you all of your photos. You may then download them in high resolution, typically 2-4 days following the event.
DEKA used to provide free photos through 2023. We documented their photo policy change in 2024.
Elite Prize Money
The prize money for 2025 DEKA FIT events is only awarded to the top 3 athletes in the elite heats. Age group heats will receive podium recognition.
For all U.S.-based DEKA FIT events backed by Spartan DEKA (excluding Roadshows), the prize money is as follows:
- 🥇 First Place: $1,000
- 🥈 Second Place: $500
- 🥉 Third Place: $250
For all DEKA events in Spain, prize money is awarded to the elite heats for DEKA FIT only. Prize money is as follows:
- 🥇 First Place: €600
- 🥈 Second Place: €400
- 🥉 Third Place: €200
For all Australian DEKA FIT events, money is awarded to the elite heats only. Prize money is as follows:
- 🥇 First Place: $3,000 AUD
- 🥈 Second Place: $1,500 AUD
- 🥉 Third Place: $1,000 AUD
For all UK DEKA FIT events, there are elite heats, but no word on prize money yet.
For all events in Portugal & Italy, no prize money is awarded.
DEKA FIT Roadshows that are not backed by Spartan DEKA (i.e. Colorado, Italy) have elite heats, but do not award prize money.

DEKA FIT Ultra World Cup
The elite heats in the DEKA FIT Ultra World Cup at DEKA FIT Austin receive the following prize money:

All finishers of a DEKA FIT event receive:

When is the official end of the 2025 series for age group purposes?
I have a September birthday and may move up an age group depending on the date for the 2025 rules
Good question, Steve. According to the rulebook, and to our sources, the age group you compete in for 2025 is the age you are on September 14th.
So if you turn 30 somewhere between Sep 1-14, you compete in the 30-34 age group. If you turn 30 between Sep 15-30, you compete in the 25-29 age group.
