This weekend’s Rally in the Valley is set to showcase some of the fittest women in the hybrid space. The Grit Games over in Texas is also going on this weekend, it has scooped up some of the competition, but let’s take a look at the Rally’s women’s field set to compete Saturday and Sunday, August 12-13, 2023.

Meg Jacoby
Meg Jacoby has only been competing in the hybrid space for a little over a year, but she’s turning heads every time she toes the starting line.
Just last weekend she broke her own world record and set the fastest ever time for a DEKA MILE. Not only does this show where her level of fitness is, but has got to give her confidence going into this weekend.
She’s the current HYROX women’s world record holder, and holds 3 of the top 6 fastest HYROX times ever. She also has the 5th fastest DEKA STRONG time this year.
Meg is one of the clear favorites to win Rally in the Valley this weekend. But not so fast says…
Lauren Weeks
Speaking of fast HYROX times, Lauren has the second fastest HYROX time ever, and holds 2 of the top 5 fastest times. She also has the fastest DEKA FIT time this year (Meg has not competed in a DEKA FIT yet this year).
Lauren & Meg raced head-to-head at the 2023 HYROX World Championships in Manchester, UK in May this year and Lauren took the W, edging out Meg by just over 30 seconds.
Day 1 consists mainly of running trails and climbing steep hills, while carrying weight for some of it. This likely plays more to Lauren’s background in Spartan race. Meg hasn’t spent as much time in the OCR scene.
We’re really looking forward to watching these two battle it out this weekend.
Corinna Coffin
Corinna has been a professional athlete for longer than most of her competitors this weekend. She was crushing obstacle course races as far back as 2014, back when Bone Frog was just starting out..
Corinna had ACL reconstruction surgery less than a year ago, but she’s worked hard to build back even stronger. Most recently, she’s been competing at The Tactical Games.
Corinna competed on a team at the CrossFit Games in 2018. She took on her first DEKA FIT last year, finishing 2nd. She’s also podiumed at the Spartan Games, and was the Season 5 winner of Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge. She’s no stranger to hard competitions.
Katie Knight
Katie has some impressive accolades to her name.
She’s the 2021 World’s Toughest Mudder Champion, completing 90 miles in 24 hours. She won the GORUCK Games in 2022, and took 3rd in 2023.
Katie is no stranger to long distance running either, having completed several ultramarathons. But don’t overlook her strength. She spends ample time at CrossFit Koda Ironview in Colorado moving around big weight.
Lauren Rantala
Lauren works for HYROX and helps get the word out about the sport of fitness racing. She’s competed in more HYROX events than anyone on this list.
She hasn’t put up as top of a time as Lauren Weeks or Meg Jacoby, but she’s an incredible athlete. A few months ago, Rantala completed a 50k cross-country ski race, so you know she’s got the endurance to hang with these ladies.
Rachel Watters
Rachel has been in the world of obstacle racing for years. She’s stood atop many Spartan race podiums, competed in numerous Savage races, and has done some ridiculous athletic challenges during her career.
She competed at the GORUCK Games in 2022 & 2023, and has recently thrown her hat into the ring at HYROX, competing in the doubles competition.
Aug 10 Update: Rachel Watters took to her Instagram stories and announced she has dropped out of the competition.
